Hi Richie,

Together with my Singaporean Chinese wife, we bought a 2,600 sq ft apartment at La Suisse in the Bukit Timah area. We settled in April 1996.

Back then we were getting SGD8,000 a month and this slid down to SGD2,800 a month by 2004.

As you can imagine, I am now very happy with the property markets in Singapore, Melbourne and (less so) in Frankfurt where we have houses.

I have been working here in the Middle East for the last two years. Thank you for your blog, it saves me so much time in tracking the market from here.
