The joint ministerial committee for the Iskandar Development Region (IDR) held its second working meeting in Johor Bahru on Monday.
A joint statement from both sides said the committee was taken on a site visit of the IDR, and the members also reviewed the progress made by the four joint work groups so far. The joint work groups, which cover immigration, transportation, tourism and environment, have identified a number of areas for cooperation. Further discussions will be carried out in the next few months.
The ministerial committee is jointly chaired by Malaysia's Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohd Effendi Norwawi and Singapore's National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan. - CNA/ac
