The HDB has selected 19 blocks for the third batch of its Restructuring Programme for Shops (RPS). They consist of 304 rental shops located in various estates such as Bedok, Bukit Merah and Woodlands.
Tenants who are regrouped will be given a removal allowance of S$10,000.
In the event that the majority opt to give up their businesses, the remaining tenants may have to be regrouped to other blocks where there are available vacancies.
Those who wish to give up their business will receive an ex gratia payment of S$60,000 if they are eligible.
Tenants were notified on Monday and given three months to revert to HDB with their decision and a feasible regrouping plan.
